The Inquisitive Traveller in Spain
October 2019
"
The medieval haven where we all returned after our busy days was absolutely magical! New friendships were forged breaking bread and sipping wine in the stone dining cove as we shared our stories of the day. It truly (and unexpectedly) felt like a family affair. The day trips (hopped in a car and was in France in a little over an hour!), recommendations of the cathedrals , art museums and unique spots to eat with incredible views kept my belly happy and brain engaged all week. Cycling through the picturesque medieval villages was also a highlight of this incredible adventure!
PS. Slept great every night in the super comfy beds and cozy linens. Will definitely see you in Italy!

" What a spectacular week, a trip of a lifetime. The medieval town experience was so authentic and there was so much to do, we barely scratched the surface. Walking Girona’s Cathedral Steps, having coffee in the Placa and wandering the Jewish Quarter, all sets from the Game of Thrones was incredible. So was visiting all 3 sites of the Salvador Dali Triangle was incredible. So many great moments to remember, new friends, great food and wine …and wonderful restaurants! Looking forward to Italy!

" Our adventure in Spain, with The Inquisitive Traveller was one delight after another. Having fellow explorers there made the experience even more enjoyable. We all got along well in our amazing castle, and we had great conversation of our shared experiences while eating delicious food in the incredible stone dining room. Our fearless leader suggested some fantastic places to visit which we very much enjoyed, as a couple and as part of a group. We're so thankful to Colleen for showing us how much Spain has to offer and would recommend her services to anyone wanting an authentic experience in another country!

" Ahhhh, Cruilles.....a memorable locale in early October 2019. Arriving in the dark only heightened our sense of antiquity.... We were the last to arrive of our group of seven, so the “castle” was already illuminated and inhabited. Wine was poured, appetizers were out. Our week of vacation had begun. Days were filled with shopping, exploring and experiencing amazing vistas from monasteries, castles and the narrow roadways along the steep, still very green, hills. Evenings were either dining out at delightful restaurants or seated in the “grotto” sharing fabulous charcuterie boards filled with cheese, fruit, breads and wines .....all purchased at the nearby, well equipped town. This is a perfect place for those who want to indulge in both modern conveniences and historical charm.

" We spent a great week in northern Spain this past October under Colleen’s guidance. With the assistance of The Inquisitive Traveller we discovered many wonderful sights, beautiful towns and historically significant locations. Colleen’s assistance was invaluable in helping find great examples of Spanish cuisine, culture and nightlife which enriched our experience.

" Thank you so much to The Inquisitive Traveller for setting up a truly unique experience in Catalonia, Spain. The Historical Haven in a medieval village was a wonderful place to stay and get to know other travellers. The freshly made chocolate croissants and fresh fruit were a welcome sight every morning, as was the gorgeously presented Charcuterie board and Rioja/Cava wines every evening. We all had so much fun chatting about our day’s adventures, from exploring a hilltop castle in Tossa de Mar overlooking the Mediterranean, the Salvador Dali Museum in Figueres, the Jewish Quarter and Cathedral in Girona, to the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. I only wish we had another week to explore even more of the Things To Do outlined in your well researched booklet. Colleen, you are a wonderful host!
